Whether you’re needing to repair your current flooring, or are wanting to undergo a whole transformation for your home, there’s sure to be a wooden flooring perfect for you. Here at Textures Flooring, we understand that it can be quite confusing when choosing from an extensive range, which is why we’ve made this blog post! Below we discuss some of the best options for wooden flooring:

Laminate Flooring

In short, laminate floors consist of a particleboard wood base topped by an image layer and a protective transparent wear layer. This type of flooring is designed to imitate the appearance of real wood planks, so it’s significantly cheaper than using solid hardwood. It’s best used in areas that don’t see excessive moisture, such as living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, hallways etc.

One of the biggest benefits of this type of wooden flooring is how easy it is to clean. Due to its smooth surface and lack of seams, it makes it super easy to clean. Simply use a dry mop to eradicate any dust or debris, and for deep cleans, just use a hard surface mop which distributes cleaning fluid. Nobody wants to spend their free time cleaning, so if you live in a busy household, this flooring could be for you!

Another huge benefit of laminate flooring is that it’s very durable when professionally installed. Because of the protective layer on top, it is resistant to scratches and scuffs. Perfect for those who have children or pets.

Solid Hardwood Flooring

With a clue in the name, solid hardwood flooring is simply made from a solid piece of hardwood. The wood is cut straight from the tree – usually hardwood trees such as Oak, Birch, Walnut etc. It’s then made into planks by a specialist wooden flooring machine, which can produce different shades of wood, as well as varying plank sizes.

While initially more expensive than synthetic hardwood, its long lasting life span certainly makes the investment worth it. With regular care and maintenance, solid hardwood flooring can last up to a lifetime, in comparison to 20-30 years for hybrid wooden flooring. Additionally, it can enhance the overall appearance of your home. Wooden flooring is known to add elegance and warmth to your interiors, as well as making your space look wider.

LVT

Luxury vinyl tiles are another product that mimic real wood flooring. They are made up of multiple layers of PVC vinyl, which creates a strong and durable material. Realistic designs and textures are achieved by using LVT, such as solid hardwood, herringbone effect etc which allows an extensive choice for customers.

One of the biggest benefits of LVT is that it’s 100% waterproof, making them a great choice for kitchens and bathrooms in households, as well as commercial properties. Additionally, they are relatively easy to install, which can save time on projects.
